Ozimals | Strangelings Preview Meeting

Yesterday I attended the Ozimals Strangelings preview meeting. Wow! Where do I start?

Strangelings Preview MeetingPrior to the meeting the Ozimals Orientation region was closed, so the Strangelings could be rezzed and positioned. Upon arrival in the regular meeting area it was evident that the Ozimals team had been busy. The entire meeting area had been transformed into a rocky swamp in theme with the 3 teasers which had been sent out previously (see teaser #1, teaser #2 and teaser #3). Displayed amongst the rocks were a sampling of beautifully textured Strangelings.

The first thing that caught my eye were the vibrant colors of the textures. Next I noticed all the variations of the Strangelings, at least those that were displayed. The base Strangeling will be very fox-like in appearance. However, through breeding, the Strangelings can have different attachments called Aspects. Some of those shown were Wings, Dorsal Spines, Horns, Unicorn Horn, Webbed Hind Legs, Hoofed Hind Legs, Scorpion Tail and a tail that to me looked like a Lion Tail. These definitely do not resemble any other breedable, current or past.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the community meeting tonight! Apologies for the sim meltdown – we had to stop raising the limit at 70 but luckily we were able to split the group onto two sims to accomodate most of the people who wanted to attend. If you weren’t able to get to the meeting but still want to look at the Strangelings, we are leaving them out for the next 24 hours or so. Living Inc | Dodo Release

Living Inc’s Dodo’s were released today with beta testers getting a gift of one egg and food delivered to them.  These are transferable, so you can gift it to another if you prefer, buy a mate or keep it as a pet.  The Dodo’s can be changed into pets after 30 days or at the end of their breeding cycle will automatically become a pet.  The Dodo’s breeding cycle ends after 65 days.  The Dodo egg that arrives to you is a blank slate and will collect the genetic data once you activate it, they are automatically given a name at birth with the announcement:

[18:48]  Dodo egg breaks. A new born dodo enters the world. Her name is Tallia.
[18:48]  Tallia sets a new home point.

The Dodo’s will be able to be raced but this aspect won’t be released till a future update and races will commence at this time also.  Dodo Heaven is already in place with a random box sent to anyone that chooses to send their 2 day or older Dodo off to heaven.  The ‘raffle’ box may contain food, eggs or even money, that has to be tempting.  I think they look great and are very sweet.  The movement is very impressive also and they are lots of fun.  I look forward to the start of the Dodo racing season.

[ **** The dodo egg ]
The dodo eggs must first examined to get to the baby stats.  As long you don’t have examined it, no one knows the stats.  You can sell unexamined eggs for example when you have two good parents and if you want to give the risk if the baby has got the good stats to the buyer.

When you examine the stats get visible, also for anybody else.

Other options in the menu:
~ Birth!
This invokes the birth, a sim performance check is made as well.  If you get an error you can retry later, go to a less laggy sim or contact the support.

~ Text off
Switches the egg text off.

~ Print
Prints the stats of the baby to your local chat. (Can be also used by anybody else)

~ No parents or Parents/
Starter eggs show no parents, since they don’t have any.  After the first generation you can see there the stats of the mother and the father dodo.

[ **** The dodo]
After your dodo is birthed he or she stands on the nest.  The nest shows 100 servings left.  That’s the nest food and it is a free bonus to your new born dodo.  This servings last for 2 days – so you don’t need to put out food right after a dodo was born.  You can switch the nest off by clicking the nest.  Your dodo has set automatically his home point after he was birthed and is by default set to “movement off”.

Click the dodo short for its health stats.  Every dodo has three main health attributes.
~ Energy
That is the power of your dodo.  When it reaches 0 your dodo will fall asleep for 8 hours. During that it will raise up to 100% again.

~ Love
If your dodo is grown-up (after 5 days) he will start to raise love.  That will take 2 days and after that love is at 100% and the dodo is able to get a baby.

~ Hunger
Your dodo needs to eat or he will starve.  After 30% hunger some functions will be already limit, like love doesn’t raise.  You get warning if your dodo gets in a critical health state.  Then just put out food. If you sell a very hungry dodo the buyer gets a forced break.

The dodo menu:
~ Racing/
That is not active yet, the dodo racing release will be around the 15 July.  So a month after the dodo breedables release.  Also the first racing season will start at this time around.

~ Breeding/
There you can link your dodo to another dodo or to set to “free pair”, what will make them pair randomly (but that’s not recommend).  Also you can enable “pair group” what will make them pair randomly to all dodos set to the same group (regardless of the owners).  But beware, just the female owners will get the egg. “Notify” tells you by IM when a dodo is ready to breed.

~ Riding/
There you can configure your “Position/” and the “Access” mode of the dodo.  So you can allow others to ride them.  They will return to their home position after a while when they don’t get used anymore. You also can ride by attaching your dodo. You will get then a different menu, allowing you to adjust the height of the animation.

~ To heaven
Thats the heaven system. If you don’t want a dodo any longer or have no use for a particular one. Like it don’t matches to your breed goals, you can send any dodo after they are 2 days old to heaven.  You will get a Dodo Raffle Box in exchange and you can win nice prices.

~ Config/
Allows you to adjust a lot options. Within “Text/” you can configure the type and the behavior of the stats text. You can switch through several modes or “Compose/” your own one. Just try it out. “Update” checks if a dodo update is available. “Reload dodo” reloads the dodo data and may fix problems, bugs and misplacement of the dodo. So try this first before contacting the support. “Particle off” turns the heart particle off that comes active when love is at 100%. Love will still be at 100% then.  It just removes the effect. “Pet only” allows you to set your dodo after 30 days to a pet only for free. It will consume no longer food, but also will not be able to breed or to race any longer. You can still ride on them and they still move and interact with you and other dodos. “Physics” switches between the two build-in physic modes, either phantom or solid. Default is solid. “Grow stop” allows you to stop the dodo grow at any time. Thats handy if you are a smaller avatar and want your dodo in a good rideable size. It has no influence or disadvantages to other stuff, so also a small dodo is able to do all the things as the big ones can. “Sleep” changes the sleep state, if awake he will go to sleep and if asleep he will awake. “Radius” sets the move radius the dodo will use. You can set very big ones, but you have to make sure then the dodo can get back to his food. So radius of several hundred meters
are possible, even simwide. “Set name” will change the default given name to any name you like better. “Set home” sets a new home position manually. In most cases the dodo should recognize the position change automatically and ask you by himself.

~ Globalize/
With globalizing you can globalize a dodos option to all other dodos next to him or even on the whole sim. If you have composed a custom text for example or set a particular radius and want to have all other dodos the same you can use that option. Make sure you activate the globalizing at that dodo which settings you want to copy over to the others.

~ Follow
That only appears when your dodo is set to “Move on”. You can make your dodo follow you with that option.

~ Stats/
Will show you the different stats of your dodos. The dodo breeding is kinda complex, so you will need some deeper insight as this quick start can provide, at best look at the website for that. In short. “Attributes” shows you the racing relevant attributes in its actual value and in its genetic maximum. Also the breed bonus. “Genetics” will show you the genetic table after your dodo reached 5 days and you can uncover sub-genetic values with each breeding cycle. “Print stats” will print the general stats and traits. “Get ID” will give you the dodo id, sometimes needed by the support.

~ My Account
Redirects you to the website driven dodo management tool. There you can see all your dodos easy, even the ones who in your inventory. You can sort them and you can teleport to them directly. So if you miss a dodo, just look there on your webaccount. You can reach it by any dodo you have.

~ Move on
Will turn movement on. Your dodo will act on its own then.

Lily Frogs are here!

Lily FrogsⓇ™ had their launch on 8th June, so I popped over to the store today and studied the frog welcoming party out front. They sound like frogs and hop around like frogs and……look kinda like a frog, the legs look great, the body on the other hand reminds me a bit of a juicy fat moth or a chrysalis…..is it just me?

Anyway I was intrigued so bought my starter pack today at a reasonable price of L$270 for 2 froggy eggs and a weeks worth of food. If I choose the regular food I can feed my frogs for L$280 a month, so not too expensive. If you want to get glowy, shiny or special froggies then you have to feed them premium food which would cost L$560 for 2 per month. You have to crate your frogs and eggs before taking into your inventory so it’s nice to know that these are free at the main store.

They have creative skin designs and they come in an array of colours ( why would you want a green frog anyway, this is sl!) At this stage I don’t know how many different breeds there are but these are the ones I found outside the main store.

– Grand Opening frog, Mississippi Gopher frog, African dwarf frog, Arizona toad and American bullfrog.

Birthing them was easy and to get the home you just click on your froggie and a menu pops up, select lilypad….simple!. I like the home, when clicked all your frogs will return to the lilypad and like many other homes the range is set there too.

If you are restricted by how many prims you can have on your land then these might be the answer, weighing in at 4 prims each, food at 2 prims and lilypad home 1 prim they wont eat into your prim allowance too much.

Rainimals | Fun and Games in the Breedables World

I have been playing around with the Rainimals Bunnies for a few weeks now and I must say they are heaps of fun.  I call them my crazy rabbits, because they well, are a little crazy.  They love to jump very high, play with their crazy toys and chat away randomly.  Along with the Bunnies, sheep and now wolves have been released, they all interact in some way and all have supercute and original accessories.  The breedables require food, and toys, and both come in wide range of options, from fruit and veges, flowers and mushrooms and even regrowing crops.  Even some of the toys act as food, like the pizza oven that delivers pizza’s which the rabbits can then eat, or the candy machine .. I think you get the idea.

Rainimals are the brainchild of RainO Tenk and Spume Shepherd and they certainly are original and quirky.  “I like the cocktails with the frou frou umbrellas”, “Bartender I will have a Rabbit Rogers”, “Bunny be safe now”, “I’m dreaming of chasing dogs” and “Watching Tracy Sparrowtree” are just some of the random things my rabbits tell me.  They are automatically given their own names, some of which are a bit odd and also reflect their type.  My rabbits for example are Dorothea the Minotaur-Rabbit,  David the Rusky-Rabbit and their first son Ernst the Missing-Rabbit, which was a real concern to me when he was born, lol.  Although he is 20 days old now he still says he is a child so I presume he will have to leave his Mother and Father before he becomes a man.  Some rabbits have costumes, like the Mexican rabbit or Cowboy rabbit and each has it’s own personality.  Don’t let them fool you, they might be innocent but the AI behind Rainimals is very impressive, they really do have artificial intelligence (even the not so intelligent ones).  They have their own preferences and cravings and will let you know if they feel they need something.  They require food, water and shelter as basic needs but they also enjoy toys and may have a craving for a particular food.  The Rainimals don’t have a home point and neither can you set them to home, but where there food etc is, they will be also.  This means that you can spread their things in a tight circle or all over a sim and they will roam within that area.  From personal experience it isn’t a good idea to spread there things out to close to a deep watersource or you might have to go looking for them alot.

The Sheep are very Anime looking and also have interesting types....

I see these breedables as not so much a moneymaking breedable but just lots of fun, these would be perfect for someone that has some land and loves to have a laugh.  You could fill a whole sim with the various foods, toys and fun things that they have, including trees and other things that make for a beautiful landscape.  All of which also encourage the Rainimals to move around and enjoy themselves.  The Sheep and Rabbits interact, with the rabbits teasing the sheep and eating their food.  The wolves, which are still in testing will also play a part, you can keep them fed with bought meat or allow them to naturally cull your rabbits and sheep at an average of 1 or 2 per week.  These would be the perfect breedable for a non-breeder.

Rainimals are constantly adding to the variety of accessories they have (it’s impossible to keep up) and if you’ve had an odd thought in your head you may well find it on sale at their store.  The rabbits like to play the piano, read books and chase birds, jump on their own trampoline and play with the hose.  If you would like to see them on display visit Rainimals Area 42 where you will see the rabbits, sheep and wolves happily roaming around in their natural environment.  They really are worth looking at, even if it’s just for a laugh.

Oh the prices may seem high, but the things that run out are very reasonable and the higher priced items are usually a one off cost, the group is very helpful and even generous to newcomers, so don’t get scared off to quickly.

Getting Started:

The Rainimals system as mentioned above is based on Wild Life and the Actions you may get from a real Animal, Which means there is very little to do for them except make sure they have a Habitat.

Simply Rez your Rainimal and the magic begins!

First you will see that the animals will initialize and come alive.  The Animals is now becoming the unique special animal of the Species you have purchased.  Every Animal will be born with a Unique Name. Unique Lineages are only assigned to a newly purchased animal not a child.

Among each Species there are Many Variations of Breeds, which include Color, Attitude, Energy, well just about every thing about the new animal will be unique. This is based on a huge based of Random Variables given by the DNA after Rezzed.   There are many different Specials which are only determined at the first rezzing.

So now you have Rezzed your first Animal, What Now?
Well as all animals they need a suitable Habitat.  This is another Unique Experience Rainimals Produces.
You will need Water and Food.  Starter Kits include these basic necessities to keep your Animal healthy and happy.

You may touch the Rainimals to toggle the animals unique Statistics
The first toggle puts their name out only, the next toggle will turn on all statistics and then finally it will toggle to all off for a very natural setting.  These options are only available to the owner of the Rainimal.

These Statistics are Live Values that Working Together Define the Digital Natural Activities (DNA) One feeds the other and based on its unique definitions given on rez or birth will dictate its feelings, wants, needs, hunger, thirst, activity, happiness, grumpiness and any other activity defined within the Rainimal.

Messages are an insight into each Rainimals intentions at any given moment.  Ranging from the need for food and water to even seeking out fun to entertain itself. A Fun Seeking Creature requires plenty of Love and Energy to carry out its gallivanting around.  Most Rainimals are meant to be in pairs or even groups per that species, so single animals also may be looking for company.

Fulfilling your animals “needs” will always make a happier bunny and then raising its statistics and it’s actually giving you a sense of its digital feelings.

Care and Feeding:

Food and Water are not necessary to keep the animal alive, rather the food and water keep there blood pumping and create more actions and give that animal the ability to run its natural day to day course of activities.  If the animal is not fed then it will become listless and lazy and mostly just sit there.  This is also true if you take them into the inventory. They continue to age, but will not Die or just go into a coma or something.

Of course Animals take in Food and Water and Expend Energy and Expel Waste.
It a Natural thing, so of course Rainimals Poop and after a While you may notice a few Flies buzzing around, but don’t worry they are only part of the charm of having animals.

Food and Water Supplies are Available at the stores.  There are many different types of supplies available.  Each type of supply has different predefined variables that will make your Rainimal’s Statistics increase of decrease.   There are even things that can poison the animal a bit.  The Rainimals know what they are eating and will often react in messages accordingly.

The mushrooms are similar in that they when they rez they determine what kind and how powerful they are.  Sometimes they are the finest truffle and sometimes they are poison.  Only way to tell is to rez it and sees what an Animal thinks.

Not all food is for all animals. You must get the particular food for that particular animal purchased.

Water is usually common to all the animals, you can create watering area and waterholes where all the wildlife drama is!

Fun and So much more:

The idea behind the Rainimals engine is to have an entire environment of different animals that interact with the each other and also have interaction with accessories.

Accessories are used as sought after items by the Animals.  Rainimals are not bound to fences and do not wander randomly till they bump into things. The Engine is set up to create artificial intelligent needs of the animal.  To run is to expend energy, and this requires more food.  The happier the Animal is the more affection or love a animal will show.

The Animal Owner has the ability to actually coax the Animal to travel long distances or short distances to find the satisfaction its little brain craves at that moment.

Entertainment/Television/Media- Yes, just like us the Rainimals have a few extra characteristics built in, Watching Television, Reading a Book are just a few of the items the Animal will use to pass the time and seek out in its daily activities.  Different Activities react different with each Animals actual unique DNA.

Toys- Another Accessories which are very useful to keep not only your animal happy and healthy, but allow simple items to better define the area of activities.

Other Animals – Other Animals may be in direct conflict with the food chain and natural order of species with in a habitat. Many animals may in fact be weary of even you, Wild Animals always know where a human is, but they are also aware if they are a predator or meal.  Other Rainimals will also allow you to set up your habitats in a natural order.
Separate Shelters and food sources of each species with a common water hole creates a very natural environment.

** Right now they are not scripted to kill each other, only to be very aware each other’s presence.  They will not approach natural enemies or other animals higher on the food chain.

Shelters and Homes:

The most important part of you habitat is the Shelter.  This is the Anchor for your Rainimals home.  It also adds the most important part of your Living Rainimals boost to the DNA.  Night Time Sleep is different then short naps.  Naps will be required for short boosts but the true complete power up comes from the long sleeps at night.

If you do not have a Stable then the Rainimal will sleep but it will only take the Short Naps, which will not power up the animal completely.

So you can see why a safe little place the Rainimal can call Shelter can really add a little perkiness to your little friend.

The Shelter Allows the Animal to have a home base.  The Animal will come back to the Shelter for Safety at night when it needs it protection time while it is dark.  The shelter has optional accessories that provide a night-light.

Breeding:
********************************************************************************

Yes of course Animals breed and if you have male and female groups of animals they are bound to get busy.
Breeding takes place at about 20-30 days for most Rainimals.  If the mating pair is left alone for several days and also have high statistics or be in the MooD as we all know.

Pending on the outcome you will come back and see a new small little lineage from your mating pair.
This child will be smaller and grow to full size adult in due time, just as any little baby animal might.  Watch it grow into your habitat.
A New Line Below its name will show its lineage.  This is great to really track down the ancestry of any given animal.
So easy enough, next thing you know, you have little animals running around.
The newborn permissions are NO COPY / NO MODIFY / TRANSFER   and they are completely tradable and or sellable.  Trade with Friends, Neighbors and other Breeders.

There are many animals to be available and with their anticipation you will find that species mingling is putting a whole new aspect to having a forest sim.
So many things are already built into the system, this has allowed RainO Tenk to make a wide Range of Living Rainimals really something different.

The Living Rainimals Manual is still a work in progress.  We are still discovering what they will do. Since the system is so based on its own variables and geration of decisions , we as maker, also just sit back and learn like you.

Steps to Debug your Sculpty LOD (Level of Distortion)

Debugging LOD

Debugging your LOD settings is something that can and will make all of your sculpts hold better. Just complete the following steps:

1. Show the “Advanced” menu with Ctrl-Alt-D, or Opt-Ctrl-D on a Mac.
2. Select “debug settings” near the bottom.
3. In the blank space, copy and paste the word:

RenderVolumeLODFactor

4. I recommend setting it as high as 4 to get all of your sculpts looking great.

NOTE: Unlike increasing your draw distance, this will NOT create lag for yourself or those around you! And it will improve the look of all sculpts.

Wraith Designs | Pixa

While wandering around looking for the Bregon Dragons the other night I stumbled upon Pixa Fairies, also created by Wraith Designs.  They have a variety of ‘types’ of Fairies which are of course breedable.  The Fairies come with a staff for gathering points, a home which is shaped like a star and interestingly a Breeding Tree.  The food and water is very pretty, all the accessories are well done actually.

You can have the motion turned off, which also removes the sparkles, let them fly 5m or they will dance, which seems to mean they move up and down vertically in the same spot.  There is also stand, which keeps them still, but they will change position slightly.  The ones I saw on display were very interesting and I particularly liked the mer breed.  The starter pack gave me 4 eggs to hatch which are all type R, breeding will release other breeds.  I have only had them for a couple of days and so far my limited experience is they are pretty and sparkly and like to fly around.

Pixa – the Breed-able fairies

Thank you for your interest in Pixa, and we hope you will enjoy and have a great time seeing them growing, breeding , playing .. etc.

The Pixa Comes in 4 different types – R, M, D, P  – however,  the starter kit / mega kit / 4 eggs pack and 1 egg pack will give you Pixa type R only –  all other types come by breeding.

What you will need to start is:

2)  1 flower-food  (this is good for all your  fairies together within 20m  up to 15 days)

it is simple and will not require much of your time to create a huge family of fairies

All fairies are transferable – from eggs to adults .

Here is how you can start-

Hatching and growing process:

1- Drag the egg from your inventory and drop it where you want it to hatch.

2- Touch the egg to start the hatching process –

3- The egg will change to a baby fairy and rezzes at different heights for each.

4- Put the food-flower near the (within 20 m)  of the fairies and keep it there as long as you want them to grow otherwise they will stop growing / functioning – starving fairy will stand upside down and emits flowers ( YOU WILL NOT HAVE access to the menu).

Babies’ menu consists of :

name: click on “name” and then type the name you like in the local chat box – you need to be within 20 m from the baby to do so. Type “no name” – without quotes in local chat if you don’t want the baby to have a name.

stats: this option will give you the age of the baby , type, food , and happiness.

Fly 5m: this will keep the pixa roaming in a circle of 5 m in radius.

Stand: to keep them standing in their position.

motion off: it will turn all movement off

change : To customize the look of your Pixa

Dance: to let your pixa dance.

Customizing your Pixa can be done by using the  Jewels which are a 1 time use, and they are valid for all stages of their life. however you can use each jewel toward as many fairies as you want as long as they are within 10 m of the jewel.  Click  on the Pixa you want to change and choose “change” then “change” again from menu, then select which you want to change .. eyes, dress, or wings .. etc (you must have the correct jewel for what you want to change – available at our shop ) , then click on the jewel and choose from menu. The Jewel will disappear after that and you your Pixa will have the new look.

Don’t forget to keep the food within 20 m of them.  AND the water  – without water your pixa’s will turn to black .

PIxa D will have horns that you can buy a separate jewel for.
Pixa P will have a necklace that you can change color using the right jewel.

6-Pixas will change to youth After the 2 days.

fly 10m: this will keep the pixa roaming in a circle of 10 m in radius.

ALL pixa will live for 75 days and they die after that, leaving pixa gem as a reward that you can bring to the shop to redeem for an egg.

Food

for 15 days  (flower) works on all Pixa of all types.

Pixa will only use owner’s food. DO NOT deed the food to groups.

Food  is enough to supply ALL number of fairies as long as they are within 20 m.  Please note that you need to put the food back into your inventory, food will be consumed even if there are no pixa’s around.

Pixa will stop functioning / growing If you forget to add new food supply after the time is over – the percentage of how much food is left can be checked via the counter on the top of the flower. Simply rezz a new one within 20 m of the pets and they will be back to life – it may take up to 20 mins to bring them back to life – Pixa will  stand upside down  if out of food and they will not function and ***you CAN NOT access the menu during that time***

It is the same for water. valid for all type of pixa’s as long as you own the food and the water. Pixa’s need to be within 20 m from water or they will turn to all black.

Staff of Jewel

Place the staff within 20 m of the pixas and start collecting points when your fairies are happy.  Touch the staff  when you gain 350 points and a pixa jewel will be sent to you.  Bring the jewel to Teagan sim (Wraith Dragons Temple)  and find the staff jewels statue inside the shop .

Place the jewel within 20 m of the statue and click , then choose egg or food from the menu.

DO NOT PLACE more then 1 staff within a circle of 40 m diameter, otherwise you will lose the staff and all your points. A staff owned by others can be placed at any location. but they will only collect points from bregons owned by the same owner.

Zwickys | The Aliens Have Landed

I’m a bit behind on announcing the arrival of the Griderz Zwicky’s.  They were released a couple of weeks ago now and Patnad was generous enough to give me a kit.  I thought these were supercute when I saw them in beta and I just love the noise they make and was delighted to have a set of my own to breed.  Sadly I haven’t had much time for them and have yet to learn many of their secrets, thankfully Rizzy has started to work out the secrets of the new aliens to join our strange world.

I have included the nc below, which gives a run down of the in’s and out’s of this interesting and unique new breedable.

<— Griderz™ Zwicky Creature —>

Zwicky creatures are named after the galaxy ‘I Zwicky 18’ a dwarf irregular galaxy located about 59 million light years away. This is where they were discovered during transdimensional propulsion experiments made by Alien Grey scientists.

Zwicky creatures first arrived on earth on July 8, 1947, found in the engine room of a crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft by government officials from Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) in Roswell, New Mexico, USA

They’ve been the study of United States scientists for the past 64 years and kept secret up until now. Human scientists have found that Alien Grey used Zwicky energy to supplement transdimensional propulsion output, thus the Zwicky discovered in the engine room were there for this reason. Zwicky aren’t harmed while being used for this purpose and actually enjoy the task and attention. Alien Grey supplied the Zwicky with plenty of their favorite food with the “Zwicky Orb” aka (Dark Energy Emitters) which process Plutonium (Pu 244) into dark energy.

Over the years Zwicky creatures have been found to be quite harmless and make great pets. They’re very playful, sociable, and love their owners!
Zwicky will gather among other Zwicky and create the (Zwicky Star) formation. It’s their way of bonding with the family. They also like to chatter with each other and people around them. They love to greet their owner with a “Whooo Hooooo!”…
Watch out for the Icky Zwicky Stink Ink! They think it’s funny to “Fart” and run!

Scientific findings:
Zwicky creatures exist slightly out of phase with our dimension. This allows them to pass effortlessly through all solid objects…

Zwicky creatures also have the ability to “Blink out” (Teleport) around their roaming area…

Since they originate outside our dimension they need to be fed dark energy to survive and the “Zwicky Orb” (Dark Energy Emitter) provides all their nutritional needs.

Breeding:
Zwicky creatures are ready to breed once they reach adult stage and become 100% horny (10-14 days). In Zwicky creatures, the males become pregnant.  Their mating involves the female passing her unfertilized eggs to the male during mating.  After completion the male gestates the young. In about 48 hours he will give birth to 1 baby! The baby will be born in stasis. A baby in stasis will never grow. The babies may be switched in and out of stasis before they reach approximately 8 hours of age. This will stop the growth process indefinitely. Once their age is over 8 hours they must be allowed to grow and cannot be put back into stasis! Choosing Stasis Off from the menu switches them out of stasis and starts them growing. NOTE: The Zwicky birthing process is very hard on newborns and you may have a stillborn baby from time to time. Please be aware that not all births will be live ones!

Zwicky Starter Pack:

All starter packs come with four baby Zwicky creatures. These can be any of the twelve current breeds. You birth your babies by rezzing their saucers and touching them for the birthing menu. A blue dialog (Menu) will appear on touch and you will be given a choice of Birth Zwicky, Yes or No…
NOTE: Zwicky births are when all Zwicky babies are most vulnerable and should not be rushed. Carefully rezz each starter saucer and take your time birthing your new babies! Don’t try to rush the births, give the saucer time to create a healthy baby! Once Zwicky are successfully birthed they’re very hardy creatures and can only die from old age!
You may take them into your inventory to move them at any time without consequences. Just remember to feed any Zwicky that’s been released from stasis. Leaving them in your inventory for long periods will make them extremely hungry!

Meet your new babies!
The green, blue and red tinted babies are your starter females.

The white/neutral tinted baby is the male Zwicky! Zwicky males are rare. Make sure you take good care of him. You only get one in each starter pack! Males are the gender that gestates the young in the Zwicky species. They get pregnant and give birth to all your little Zwicky babies!

Zwicky creature lifespan:
Do to the fact that Zwicky creatures live in two separate dimensions they have a rather short lifespan. Maximum age is 180 days. NOTE: This age can be extended by purchasing a Zwicky Life Extension Orb. Zwicky creatures must be kept fed or they will go to sleep until food is made available and you wake them up! Once their hunger reaches 100% they will fall asleep and hunger will continue to build past 100%!

Zwicky Orb:
This is their food processor which turns Plutonium (Pu 244) into dark energy.
Plutonium (Pu 244) refill vessels are available to replenish your depleted Zwicky Orbs.
All Plutonium containers will automatically refill any Zwicky Orbs region wide. You only need one refill per region. When that’s depleted it will delete itself and you will need to rezz a new vessel before your Zwicky Orb becomes empty. Currently there are three sizes available, small (200), medium (400), and large (800). These are for sale at our main store or at one of our affiliate vendor locations.

The Breeder Chronicles | Zwickys

Well its been 2 weeks since the Zwicky have gone into general release and I love them. They are everything I like about other breedables rolled up into 1 with a few add ons.

The breeding is interesting enough and the lack of a confusing HUD is a definite improvement over some, although the basic RGB color schemes might throw some off.  But hang on to them the colors  DO get better.

The flying aspect is really cool.  No more eggs or stuff getting lost in the ground or among Grasses you may have for them to roam around in.  Plus its really neat to have something fly up to you and greet you when you rez into your land.

The fighting is also a really interesting addition to the breed able market.  It wouldn’t surprise me that other breedables will add this to their creatures that exist or the ones coming down the pipeline.

There is one or two drawbacks to them.  You have to time the males readiness with that of the female to be sure you don’t lose it.  Males stay ready for a short time while the females remain ready until they breed.  So my suggestion is that you let the females “Mature” somehow first and then let the male get ready

Another place that I see a learning curve in is the fact that once a male calls theres a chance they might misfire.  What I mean by this is theres a chance that even though you waited all the time for them to get ready and to mate… it might not be successful.

And finally the price.  Don’t let the price of the initial set throw you.  Yes its higher than the other breedables but the investment is worth it.  OR you can go to those who have already produced them to buy the later generations that are starting to show up and buy a food orb and there ya go… Zwicky breeding on the “cheap” PLUS you bypass the Starter RGB dilemma.  I’ve both produced and seen some really nicely colored 1st generations.

Sibotanical Breedable Plants

Unique and interesting breedable plants.

Sibotanical Breedable Plants are a fantasy breedable with cloning abilities.  It is breeding the cloned plants that gives you the chance to discover new plants to add to your collection.  Sibotanical’s were released in February of this year by the talented team of Jenniferz Vita and Alexith Destiny.

*** INTRODUCTION ***

Sibotanical is a journey. Through careful observation, experimentation and a bit of luck, you can blend the properties of five plants together. Generation after generation, new species can be developed, which become more and more strange magical and unique.  Working alone or trading with others, the goal of Sibotanical is to find the evolutionary path that leads to one amazing destination.  Will you walk that path?

*** WHAT ARE SIBOTANICAL PLANTS? ***

Sibotanical plants are breedable plants, that can be combined together to create new, strange and magical plants.

It begins with five “generation 1” plants. You can purchase any of these plants from a Sibotanical vendor. Each of these plants contain a different energy.

Voraticus – Energy of Hunger
Illuminus – Energy of Light
Ocularis – Energy of Sight
Volitaris – Energy of Colour
Audibilius – Energy of Sound

These energies are present in all sibotanical plants, and are blended in different ways.  You can blend any two of these generation 1 plants to see if a new  generation 2 plant can be created.

HOWEVER, it is important to note that not all combinations will work. Some plants when combined will not produce a new plant belong to the next generation. It is a matter of experimentation and observation to find the correct combinations that produce new plants.

One thing is for sure. You will discover if you persist that, as you go deeper and deeper into the generations of plants, they become stranger and stranger! The five energies of hunger, light, sight, colour and sound blend in interesting and unexpected ways!

*** IS THERE A GOAL ? ***

Yes. Sibotanical has a goal. As it evolves other goals and hidden areas will unfold, but there is one overriding goal that you are moving towards.

*** HOW MANY GENERATIONS ARE THERE ? ***

Sorry but that would be giving it away! Hidden and rare plants will eventually become available through new combinations of plants. However, there is a main path for evolving plants that you will need to follow to reach the final goal. Whilst we won’t give away the steps you need to take, we will say that all five generation 1 plants are needed to produce the plants that lead to the higher generation plants and the final destination.

*** HOW DOES IT WORK? OVERVIEW ***

Firstly, you’re going to need two ore more generation 1 plants to get started. The easiest way to get these is to purchase them from a Sibotanical store. Whilst eventually you will need all five generation plants if you wish to work through all of the plants needed along the path, it is possible to start with fewer.

Once you have your plants, your first priority will be keeping them alive! To do this you will need to water your plant every 48 hours to keep it alive.

PLEASE NOTE THOUGH… this does not cost you money. The good news is that a watering can with a permanent supply of water comes with your Sibotanical starter kit. Provided you can water those plants once every 48 hours, they will stay alive. Please note that if you are not sure that you will be able to water the plants regularly, you may wish to invest in a sprinkler system, or form a cooperative group of gardeners with your friends.

If you take care of your plants, then soon it will develop a clone. If you combine that clone with the clone of another plant, and place both in a Sibotanical pot, then you have a chance of creating a new plant which combines the energies of both its parents.

Bear in mind, (with perhaps some hidden exceptions that might evolve in time) only plants of the SAME generation can bring new plants into life. This means you should breed generation 1 plants with generation 1 plants, generation 2 plants with generation 2 plants and so on).

And remember, if you don’t have the plant itself needed to produce the clone, there may always be someone in SL selling them!

*** WILL I DISCOVER A NEW PLANT EVERY TIME? ***

No. You absolutely won’t. This is a crucial thing to bear in mind. You can only find your way through the evolutionary tree of plants through experimentation. It is up to you to discover what the combinations are.

Having said that, careful observation will give you some inkling as to which combinations are more likely to yield results. It makes sense to talk to others involved in the path so that you can learn from others. Pay careful attention to the characteristics of each plant, experiment, and you WILL be finding amazing and potentially valuable new plants in no time.

*** CAN I WORK WITH OTHERS? ***

Yes! In fact, as you move higher into evolving new plants, it may make more sense to trade with others than to evolve every combination. It will be useful working with others not just from the standpoint of trading plants. For example. one higher level plant produces magical seeds. These will be very useful, and will be explained later.

*** ARE THERE SHORTCUTS? ***

Yes. There are tools that can help you along the path.

** FERTILIZER **

Fertilizer speeds up your plants growth to maturity. Applying fertilizer to your Sibotanical plants increases the rate at which you can obtain a “clone” (which is a cutting of the plant) and attempt to pair it with another clone.

** SPRINKLER SYSTEMS **

Sprinkler systems automate the process of watering plants, and operate within a ten meter radius.

** MAGIC SEEDS **

Magic Seeds only really come into play when you have advanced to generation 3 Sibotanical plants. At this level, if a magic seed is used when a pairing is attempted, the chances of producing a higher level plant are dramatically increased.

This section provides you with step-by-step instructions on how to acquire, look after, breed and hopefully evolve your Sibotanical plants.

A warning though: Sibotanical is not a random collection of plants that you can easily produce. Sibotanical is a puzzle, with a set purpose. As a result these instructions don’t tell you every little detail of how to produce the plants you need. You’ll need to experiment, discuss with others and pay attention to the hints that we out out there from time to time ;-).

** BEFORE BEGINNING – A FEW CORE IDEAS YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND **

* UNDERSTANDING PLANT ENERGIES *

There are five energies in all Sibotanical plants. These five energies weave through every single Sibotanical plant, in different combinations. These five energies are Sight, Hunger, Colour, Light and Sound.

Each of the level one plants represents one of these energies, as follows:

Ocularis: Energy of Sight
Voraticus: Energy of Hunger
Volitaris: Energy of Colour
Illuminus: Energy of Light
and
Audibilius: Energy of Hunger.

As your plants evolve you will see these energies evolving, and the names for these energies also changes to reflect the evolved state of the plant. For example, the Voraticus plant which represents hunger may be evolved to the point where its identifying name becomes Carnivorus. These energies and the names associated with these energies will provide you with important clues as you experiment with your plants. IMPORTANT: pay close attention to the names given to the plants. These will provide you with clues as you evolve your plants to higher levels.

* KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR PLANTS *

As the game progresses it will be very important for you to keep track of your plants. You will need to know their health, the generation they belong to and the dominant energy they possess. You can get all this information simply by left clicking on your plant. Hovertext will appear which provides you with key information about the plant.

Let’s take this example.

Looking at this information line by line, this is what we can learn about this plant:

SIBOTANICAL 15 Volitaris

This means that this SIBOTANICAL plant belongs to generation one, and is the fifth plant in that series. Its name is Volitaris, which means that its dominant energy is the energy of colour (see above).

Last Watered: 1 hour ago

This is pretty self explanatory. It means that the plant received water an hour ago, and that it will require another watering within 47 hours.

Ready to clone in: 59 hours

This means that in 59 hours, your plant will be able to produce a “clone” which can be used in conjunction with another clone to produce a new plant.

Healthy

This means that the plant has been well maintained, and kept watered. It is a quick indicator that all is ok with your plant, and no action is currently required to keep it alive.

** GETTING STARTED – Acquiring Your plants **

Armed with this basic information you are ready to get gardening, and walking the path!

The first step is to get hold of some generation 1 plants.

Whilst you don’t need ALL five plants to get started, please note that you may not get any result out of owning just two. Not every plant combination produces a new plant. For this reason, we recommend that at the very least, you start with three of the above generation 1 plants. This way you have more of a chance of being able to breed them, right from the start.

Note also that, as the game progresses, higher generation plants may be available for sale by people involved in the program. You may wish to take a shortcut and try to acquire these.

The easiest way to attain starter plants is to come to any Sibotanical store, and make your purchase. All five of the generation 1 plants will always be available at a Sibotanical Store. If you purchase the deluxe starter pack, you will also receive one of the generation two plants, to help you along your way.

** KEEPING YOUR PLANTS ALIVE **

Water is the key here. If you don’t water your plants at least once every 48 hours, they will die. When a plant dies it simply disappears and you will not be able to restore it. For this reason it’s crucial that you keep your plants watered.

* MANUAL WATERING WITH THE WATERING CAN *

The good news is, water is freely available. With every new plant you purchase from a Sibotanical store, you will receive a watering can. This can never runs out of water. All you need to do to water your plants, is to wear the watering can and wait for the particle stream of water to appear from it. Then you simply walk up to each plant, and stand over it, ensuring that the water from the can falls onto the plant. If you then left click on your Sibotanical plant, in the hovertext you will see how many hours until the next watering is required.

Separate watering cans can also be purchased from the Sibotanical store, if you wish to enlist your friend’s aid in keeping your plants alive.

IMPORTANT: these watering cans never run out. You do not need to purchase an ongoing supply of water. You simply need to wear the can and water the plants manually every 48 hours.

* AUTOMATED WATERING SYSTEMS *

There are automated watering systems which you can purchase from a Sibotanical store. If you place one of these within ten meters of your plants, they will be kept alive by the watering system.

Again, these systems never run out, so if you purchase one once, then it will permanently provide your plants with the water they need to survive, PROVIDED these plants are within ten meters of the watering system.

The automated watering system comes in the form of a sprinkler or a pump. These items perform exactly the same function. However the sprinkler produces particles and the pump does not. For this reason the pump is a subtle and less resource intensive way to keep your plants alive. They perform the same function.

To use them, simply rezz them near your plants. Ideally they would be located centrally, with the Sibotanical plants arrayed around them.

Using either manual watering or automated watering systems, you will be able to keep your Sibotanical plants alive.

** PAIRING TWO PLANTS TOGETHER **

The most important rule of thumb here is that GENERALLY, a pairing can only happen when plants of the same generation are combined. In other words, certain combinations of two generation 1 plants will allow you to create a generation 2 pant, and certain combinations of two generation 2 plants will allow  you to create a generation 3 plant, and so on.

There may well be exceptions to this rule at a later date. Plants from different generations might produce very strange hybrids, but we can guarantee you that these will be VERY hard to find by mere chance. Hints will be dropped at a certain point, so that those who are paying attention will have the chance to potentially open up whole new evolutionary paths that have been hitherto hidden.

You can determine what generation a Sibotanical plant belongs to by clicking on it. The hovertext above it will give you information about the status of the plant, as well as its name and identifier.

* CLONES – or cuttings *

The basic ingredient of any pairing is a “clone”. A clone is a small plant that is produced by an adult Sibotanical plant when it has reached maturity. You can check on when a plant is going to reach maturity by left clicking on it. You will see the number of hours left before a clone is produced.

When this time has counted down to zero, the plant is ready for harvesting. left clicking on the plant will provide you with its clone. Once you harvest the plant of its clone it will begin the process of maturing one all over again.

* USING FERTILIZER *

If you wish to speed up the maturation process you can purchase a syringe of SIBOTANICAL Fertilizer and apply it to your plant. For a space of 24 or 48 hours, your plant will enter a period of heightened growth. Simply rezz the fertilizer and click on it. All plants within a ten meter radius will experience rapid maturation.

* USING A SIBOTANICAL POT *

When you have two clones from two plants that are of the same generation, you are ready to pot them.

When you have two clones, you need to obtain a (free) SIBOTANICAL pot from a SIBOTANICAL store or from the starter kit you received with the Sibotanical plant that you purchased.

To use the pot, rezz the two clones you wish to attempt to pair in front of you. Rezz the pot near them.

– click on the pot. A hole appears in the earth.
– Click on your first clone and you will see a seedling coming from the earth in the pot.
– Click on your second clone and you will see that the seedling in the post now has leaves.
– either then click on a magic seed if you are pairing generation 3 or above plants and wish to increases your chances of a successful pairing, or just type “skip” in chat.

If you do this properly the plant will disappear after a short time. Clicking on the pot will tell you the status of the growing plant. All you have to do now is make sure that the plant is kept watered every 24 hours, and hope that you have found a correct combination!

After a period of time has elapsed, click on the pot. If you have found a successful combination you will receive your evolved plant. If you have not, then you will need to start another pairing process, using a different combination of clones.

* USING MAGICAL SEEDS *

If you are pairing generation 3 plants or higher, then you have the option of using a magical seed when you perform a pairing.

To use a magical seed, rezz it on the ground along with your pot and two clones. After clicking on your pot to create a hole in the earth and then clicking on the two clones to plant them, you then have the opportunity to click on the magical seed. This will then be added to your clones, and you will have a significantly greater chance of obtaining a successful result.

* REACHING A NEW GENERATION *

If you have successfully paired tow compatible plants, and take care of the plants to the point of maturation, then the plant will be ready to yield to you the new generation Sibotanical. To do this, simply click on the plant when it has reached maturity, and you will then receive a plant in your inventory. Rezz the plant and you are ready to continue.

*** CONCLUSION ***

With this information you will be ready to walk the path of Sibotanical. However, stay alert. New hints may well be released through the Destiny Blue Designs and Jennifer’s Jewelry groups (if you have not joined these groups we recommend you do so!). Completely new undiscovered areas may open up in the future. Watch this space.

<— Griderz™ Zwicky Creature —>

Zwicky creatures are named after the galaxy ‘I Zwicky 18’ a dwarf irregular galaxy located about 59 million light years away. This is where they were discovered during trans-dimensional propulsion experiments made by Alien Grey scientists.

Zwicky creatures first arrived on earth on July 8, 1947, found in the engine room of a crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft by government officials from Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) in Roswell, New Mexico, USA

They’ve been the study of United States scientists for the past 64 years and kept secret up until now. Human scientists have found that Alien Grey used Zwicky energy to supplement transdimensional propulsion output, thus the Zwicky discovered in the engine room were there for this reason. Zwicky aren’t harmed while being used for this purpose and actually enjoy the task and attention. Alien Grey supplied the Zwicky with plenty of their favorite food with the “Zwicky Orb” aka (Dark Matter Emitters) which process Plutonium (Pu 244) into dark matter.

Over the years Zwicky creatures have been found to be quite harmless and make great pets. They’re very playful, sociable, and love their owners!
Zwicky will gather among other Zwicky and create the (Zwicky Star) formation. It’s their way of bonding with the family. They also like to chatter with each other and people around them. They love to greet their owner with a “Whooo Hooooo!”…
Watch out for the Icky Zwicky Stink Ink! They think it’s funny to “Fart” and run!

Scientific findings:
Zwicky creatures exist slightly out of phase with our dimension. This allows them to pass effortlessly through all solid objects…

Zwicky creatures also have the ability to “Blink out” (Teleport) around their roaming area…

Since they originate outside our dimension they need to be fed dark matter to survive and the “Zwicky Orb” (Dark Matter Emitter) provides all their nutritional needs.

Breeding:
Zwicky creatures are ready to breed once they reach adult stage and become 100% horny (5-7 days). In Zwicky creatures, the males become pregnant.  Their mating involves the female passing her unfertilized eggs to the male during mating.  After completion the male gestates the young. In about 12 hours he will give birth to 1 baby! The baby will be born in stasis. A baby in stasis will never grow. The babies may be switched in and out of stasis before they reach approximately 4 hours of age. This will stop the growth process indefinitely. Once their age is over 4 hours they must be allowed to grow and cannot be put back into stasis! NOTE: The Zwicky birthing process is very hard on newborns and you may have a stillborn baby from time to time. Please be aware that not all births will be live ones!


Zwicky Starter Pack:

All starter packs come with four baby Zwicky creatures. These can be any of the five current breeds. You birth your babies by rezzing their saucers and touching them for the birthing menu. A blue dialog (Menu) will appear on touch and you will be given a choice of Birth Zwicky, Yes or No…
NOTE: Zwicky births are when all Zwicky babies are most vulnerable and should not be rushed. Carefully rezz each starter saucer and take your time birthing your new babies! If you try to rush the births, stillborns are more likely to happen! Region performance and lag can play a part in the death of your new babies! Once Zwicky are successfully birthed they’re very hardy creatures if kept well fed!
You may take them into your inventory to move them at any time without consequences. Just remember to feed any Zwicky that’s been released from stasis and do not leave them in your inventory for more than 7 days or they will die of starvation!

Meet your new babies!
The green, blue and red babies are your starter females.

The white/neutral baby is the male Zwicky! Zwicky males are rare. Make sure you take good care of him. You only get one in each starter pack! Males are the gender that gestates the young in the Zwicky species. They get pregnant and give birth to all your little Zwicky babies!

Zwicky creature lifespan:
Do to the fact that Zwicky creatures live in two separate dimensions they have a rather short lifespan. Maximum age is 180 days. NOTE: This age can be extended by purchasing a Zwicky Life Extension Orb. DANGER! Zwicky creatures must be kept fed or they will die of starvation! Once their hunger reaches 100% their ability to survive in our dimension becomes impossible and antimatter annihilates them in a devastating explosion.

Zwicky Orb:
This is their food processor which turns Plutonium (Pu 244) into dark matter.
Plutonium (Pu 244) refill vessels are available to replenish your depleted Zwicky Orbs.
All Plutonium containers will automatically refill any Zwicky Orbs region wide. You only need one refill per region. When that’s depleted it will delete itself and you will need to rezz a new vessel before your Zwicky Orb becomes empty. Currently there are three sizes available, small (200), medium (400), and large (800). These are for sale at our main store or at one of our affiliate vendor locations.
