Meeroos | In-world Preview + Teaser!

The Meeroos decided to place another display in world for your viewing!  Just click here to see for yourself in world!  This area was set up for the photoshop of the March Edition of “The Best of SL” magazine!  The Meeroos were featured on the cover and have an article on page 97.  You can obtain a copy of the magazine at this location.  On March 1st, Catherine Farspire, one of the creators, sent out a teaser notice enticing the Meeroos group that these little creatures we’re going to stand still and “reveal” some secrets!  Of course the group was excited but, we had to make some noise for Catherine to release a second notice with the landmark of where we would find these adorable creatures.  I got my clicking fingers ready as I anticipated the second notice, I knew it would be moment before I got to see the Meeroos in person for the first time, and there it was!  I anxiously clicked teleport and to my surprise I was one of the lucky first 50 to get the first look!  It was slugishly painful to move, I managed to get a few steps in about ten or so minutes.  Everything was so slow to rezz, everyone was chattering away and bumping into each other.  Everything was clay grey.

But eventually I crashed and was able to capture some pictures for my flickr until I was able to return today and snap some pictures of a better quality without the lag and oh so wonderful (haha can you sense the sarcasm?) grey baked texture of SL.  Anyways on with the pictures!

Here is an adorable little pine Meeroo with a flower on its nose.  In each hand the Meeroo holds what I think to be a “hint” to possible items that may be implemented, in its right hand appears to be a wooden carving a meeroo, on its left a feather.

Here is a lighter colored Meeroo inside a large vase.  The vase may also be a hint to possible items or lore that may be implemented.

Here you can get a good glimpse of the detail of the Meeroos.  The leg spots on this picture are incredibly adorable!  The tail is lush and fluffy with great mind to detail and the shading in the ears is just fascinating!

On March 4th, another notice from Catherine Farstrider was sent with a picture of a teacup and a whale, with the words “What could it mean?” below it.  Later that day they confirmed that the riddle picture was a trait they implemented… still lost?  Meeroos sent a notice with the following blog link.  The blog stated that Meeroo sizes would be a breedable trait!  You could get a tiny teacup size Meeroo or a “gentle giant” as they put it.  How exciting!  Join the Meeroos group in world or follow the Meeroos website!

Precious Dragons | Going, Going, Gone!

Precious are going, going, GONE! Gone gold that is.  Precious Dragons have announced that they are officially out of beta now.  A special gift was given out to everyone who wore the PD HUD prior to the blog post.  The special Gold Gift includes an exclusive Going Gold Queen that is a limited time edition egg only available to those who received the gift.

Rovees Release

The Rovees announced today their official release!  I know I’m late, so much to do, so little time.  Earlier today, the Petable team who brought you marvelous turtles is bringing you breedable robots!

Le Mew Canopy Bed by Kitty Cattery

Two dear friends, Sookie Slafford and Alia Whitfield of Kitty Cattery we’re so kind to let Breedables Inc. do an exclusive first post prior to releasing their newest creation!  So ladies and gentlemen here it is.. Le Mew Canopy Bed, and my gosh is it freaking (can I say freaking on a blog? Whatever I just did!) amazing! Are you ready for this?!

Yes my friends it’s that adorable!  No no, not Hercules, my kitty, the bed!  In all my years of breedables I have never seen such amazing quality go into a product.  Ok enough, on with the review!  This four poster canopy bed with bows comes in a variety of colors, not only does it include a variety of colors, but, it changes by HUD!  No more clicking on a menu and hoping that it’s the one you want… but you can actually see the fabric swatches in the HUD.  Here is what the HUD appears like on your screen.

This adorable bed has six wicker (basket) variations, eight fabric options for the canopy, curtains, bow, and mattress for a grand total of over 24000 possible combinations!  Now that is some bed!  This lovely bed is 38 prims and copy!  All parts of this bed have been hand made, not purchased!  From the amazing realistic and seamless fabric to the quality sculpts!  The HUD was made exclusively for Kitty Cattery.

This bed is brought to you by Kitty Cattery with the help of Scar Ayes of Scarlia, who scripted the HUD from the ground up exclusively for Kitty Cattery.  Scar also made some adorable kitty poses that are available at Kitty Cattery for 150L!  (I think I might have to do a review for these as well!)  Now you ask, how much?  Such great quality, amazing work, fine detail, and can we forget the options?! Meeroos | Best of SL Magazine

Breedables in the headlines!  Extra extra read all about it, Meeroos in Best of SL Magazine!  It appears the not yet released Meeroos will be featured on the cover on Best of SL Magazine for March.  Frolic Mills Show featured Levio Serenity, the main scriptor from Meeroos today in a live interview and attempt to get a few questions the frenzy followings of Meeroos had to ask.  Levio Serenity is one of three co-owners of Meeroos, he has partnered with Catherine Farspire and Chimeric Crescendo to bring you these amazing works that you all know as Meeroos.

Levio went on to explain a little bit about how the Meeroos will operate and a few basic features.  The meeroos will imitate real genetics with a dominant recessive relationship.  The meeroos will have different types such as artic and pine, each type having several variations of coats within that type of meeroo.  Each type of meeroo will eat a different type of food, therefor you will need to be selective on which types you breed or have seperate food types available as a pine meeroo may not share the same food bowl as an arctic meeroo. It is unclear if all types will be based on real world regions or a mixture of fantasy as well.  They will be able to pass on traits such as eyes, hair styles, tails, and “parts.”  What do you mean “parts?”  Well.. the meeroos will be 13-17 prims and have a chance to obtain legendary parts.  At this time no further information on these legendary parts is available but one can assume they will be body pieces that are extremely rare.  Also, Levio stated that they have implemented a stunning 100 plus eye colors!  The meeroos will have several mini games that will directly influence your meeroo and your status in the game that will be implemented with the meeroos to learn more about this game check out our previous blog post about The Wonderful World of Meeroos. The game aspect will include a HUD, this will allow you to check several features of your meeroo.  This HUD will show you stats such a rarity of the selected meeroo traits on a rating scale of 1 to 6, 1 being common and 6 being rare.  Rarity?  What might that suggest?  Perhaps these legendary parts?  Perhaps special variations of coat markings?  We don’t quite know yet!  Levio stated that as you level up you will have a greater chance to obtain these rare traits.  So how long will it take for my meeroo to breed?  Well it will take 10 days till maturity and 10 days for a breeding cycle.  Why so long?  Levio expressed great concern in making everyone’s ability to play equally in this game a priority.  Both the cycle length and the bonus to mini games are a way of helping the smaller breeders keep up with mass breeders, as this will require actual interaction on the behalf of the breeder/owner.  Some meeroos may not be attracted to certain other meeroos and may have more difficulty breeding together, this is not impossible to breed the two [except in the case of inbreeding or breeding with a family member, which will never result in a breeding], but simply may require more attention and effort.  You will be able to breed with your friends meeroos!  A meeroo will produce a single offspring, there is no chance of twins.  Also, no inbreeding will be allowed… more information on how this will be prevented isn’t quite clear yet.  Stats will be a little more complex than a simple 0-100% scale… Levio refused to released these exact details, but I can assure you it sparked an interest in the interview!  Baby meeroos will be born in a nest. You meeroo will be able to be taken to inventory for three days before he/she will run away.  Once your meeroo is gone, you can’t get it back, however, Levio mentioned of the possibility of implementing a special whistle which will call your meeroo back to you.

Ready for a couple random teasers?  It’s possible that aquatic meeroos will be able to swim.  You will be able to play mini games with others to get player points.  Sometime after release it’s possible that they will consider making a meeroo avatar.  The meeroos will have an abnormally high mutation chance.  Mini games will help your meeroo’s stats to aid in a more desirable breeding. Your can feed your friends meeroos.  The team is aiming for under 8 scripts… these scripts are designed to sense when an avatar is within a certain range and will set your meeroo to an idle mode when no one is near.  Idle mode will still allow your meeroo to eat and breed.  The tree stump’s scripts will auto detect sim dilation to shut off unnecessary scripts in the meeroo temporarily until someone is close again.

Alright enough already! When can we get our paws on them?!  No dates are being released as the team doesn’t wish to set a date that would be unrealistic or simply delayed continuously.  The only date mentioned is that Levio and the team hope that all features will be ready and implemented into the meeroo by March.  Beta testing will not hold back on features, all features that are to be available in the release will be available immediately in beta.  How much will they cost?  The team isn’t quite sure yet and hasn’t set prices as of yet.

Kitty Cattery Grand Opening TONIGHT!

That’s correct ladies and gents, tonight at midnight!  Word got around in the Kitty Cattery group that Sookie and Alia have decided to hold the grand opening at midnight (Secondlife Time) so don’t miss out!  I’ve been informed that an exclusive free gift will be available for those who attend the grand opening.  A little birdie told me it’s so unique that there’s nothing like it on the market, the gift will be out long enough for those not there for the opening to hop on over quickly to pick it up!  Don’t panic if you miss the grand opening, I’ll have a follow up blog for everyone who wasn’t able to attend.  I was hoping to prance over there and take a peek at the building but it’s still hidden away until midnight. Rumor Has It… Kitty Cattery Is In The Works!

Rumor has it, that a new KittyCat gathering place is in the works!  I was chatting with Sookie Slafford owner of Jolly Farm a few days ago when she let me in on a secret, Kitty Cattery will be opening very soon!  Sookie has joined up with Alia Whitfield to create Kitty Cattery, and bring you some amazing works for these new bundles of fur.  For those of you who have visited Jolly Farm know the amazing work of Sookie Slafford, for those of you who haven’t been, I suggest you get there now and see what you’re missing out on!  Kitty Cattery is said to bring amazing new accessories for your KittyCatS.  Sookie has mentioned things that will include toys, beds, and surely so much more!  Here is the teaser that Sookie released just last night.

Sookie Slafford was kind enough to give me an exclusive interview for the blog!  Read on to see what amazing things she has in store for you!

Kirakah Little: What kinds of products will be available at launch [of the store]?
Sookie Slafford: A variety of pet beds, window perches, cat trees, kitty toys, blankets, litter boxes and a special set of Kitty Cattery branded accessories that are still a little hush hush 😛

Kirakah Little: Can we count on some amazing unique collars in the future?
Sookie Slafford: I cannot confirm nor deny the possibility that we might maybe be working on some amazing and unique collars for the future. 😀

Kirakah Little: How do you plan on making these items truly unique?
Sookie Slafford: I think what makes our products unique is the time and detail we’re putting into them. Alia Whitfield while new at sculpting is truly amazing. She’s made some amazing sculpts for our products and she’s really been the innovative brain in our duo. I expect a lot of other businesses to spring up with cat beds and trees but I can promise that we’re going to do it bigger, better and with the utmost attention to details.

Kirakah Little: Anything going on for the opening?  Special gifts? Party?
Sookie Slafford: Yes! Kitty Cattery will first open to our bloggers and they will receive a very special showing and surprise. 🙂 The bloggers and the members of the Kitty Cattery group will receive special freebies never to be sold in the store and only available for the grand opening day.

Kirakah Little: Ohhh exciting!
Sookie Slafford: Yes, it’s very exciting. We really want to give back to the bloggers and to those who join the group early on in support of our store.

Kirakah Little: Will the group cost eventually? If so, how much?
Sookie Slafford: The group will eventually have a cost – as most groups in SL tend to do when a lot of freebies are involved. We’re not prepared to tell everyone the price of the group just yet. 😀

Kirakah Little: When can we expect it [the store] open to the public?
Sookie Slafford: Oh what a loaded question. We want to open this weekend, but let’s face it… we get so close to opening and we come up with more ideas for things we want to make. Most of our products are original sculpts and texturing which takes a lot of time. I’m shooting for next weekend at the latest. Cross your paws. 😀

Kirakah Little: No fair! You’re teasing.  I’m so excited.
Sookie Slafford: Good! We want people to be as excited as we are. 😀 We’ve put so much work into this and tried to keep things organized and easy for the customers. I’m woman enough to admit that the level of detail and the work that’s gone into this is steps ahead of my store, Jolly Farm.

Kirakah Little: Will these items be suited for other breedable cats in SL?
Sookie Slafford: Yes, in fact I think a lot of our items will be suited for pets in general. While we’re in the business for breeding and selling KittyCatS, the items really can be used with any cats… and bunnies too for that matter. 😉

Kirakah Little: Will Alia and yourself be striving to breed certain traits?
Sookie Slafford: KittyCatS are admittedly Alia’s first experience with breedables. 😀 I can’t speak really for her since she’s so new to the concept. Getting into KittyCatS reminds me of when I got into Ozimals a little over a year ago and I expect like everyone else, it’ll be a lot of trial and error – mixing our cats and seeing what we get! Of course eventually it’ll turn into breeding for specific traits but it’s all about the fun for now. We’re just anxiously waiting for our kitties to be ready!

Kirakah Little: Aren’t we all!  We all start somewhere, seeing as KittyCatS are so new, I believe a lot of us will be doing the same.  Well thank you so much Sookie.  We look forward to the opening!
